CUNY – Advanced Science Research Center
This CUNY Project consists of 2 phases. Phase I of the project includes the Wide Advanced Science Research Center (ASRC),a new 189,000 square-foot shared research facility to support the concept of an integrated university by providing state-of-the-art laboratories for the University’s top research faculty in one location. Phase II of the project includes the City College New Science Facility, a 200,000 square-feet research space. The building was designed and is now being constructed in tandem with the ASRC.
WES Consultants was selected to provide structural steel detailing for the project. The project includes more than 5000 tons of steel with many challenging geometries and very few standard connections. Despite many design changes, the project was successfully completed on schedule.
